Perception about 'clerics of seminaries’ being terrorist became norm after 9/11; Fazlur Rehman

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday the perception about clerics of seminaries being terrorists became a norm after 9/11.

Speaking on the US and Nato, Mr Rehman said, "Nobody attacked the US and Nato but they themselves came to attack Afghanistan. For 20 years, Afghanistan had to witness bombings after which negotiations were made in Doha."

Mr Rehman said, "The US and the rest of the western countries’ attempt to impose their ideology on us is an act of terrorism." He lamented that the wrong perception was made about the seminaries.
